A Galapagos Encounter

There are only a few places on Earth left that are as untamed, yet so accessible as the Galapagos Islands in Ecuador. See this video of one man’s experience. (See another video here of a woman who conquered her fears in the Galapagos.)

The Galapagos Islands are about 1000 km from the mainland of Ecuador, and are reached by air from Quito and Guayaquil. The cruise options range from 3 nights to 14 nights. We can arrange many different options and prices.

Land stays with hiking and photography can be arranged on a few islands, particularly Isabela and San Cristobal. Diving trips can be arranged and many are available as day excursions from Isla Santa Cruz. Stays of 3 or 4 nights round out a cruise and offer a vastly different experience. They can be taken without a cruise too.

Hiking on the islands is hot business, particularly if you want to trek to some of the volcanoes along the black lava rock. You are rewarded with spectacular views inside the rims while also giving you a high point to take panoramic shots.

Animals let you approach so closely for photos you should keep a respectful distance so as not to endanger yourself or the animals. Birders will love the chance to take photos of iconic species.
