Welcome to the Slow Traveller, a world of slow food, friends and travel.
Many cultures around the world have a strong tradition of honouring guests who visit from afar and celebrate with them in dining together. In fact, food effectively breaks down more barriers and makes more connections, even deals, than any other human activity. Slow Travel challenges us to modify the misinformed and entrenched ideas of people and cultures that we all carry around.
I am a slow traveller myself. I have given up the big resorts to my younger days and found a true joy in meeting people who are passionate about creating bridges between people. Food and travel are a facntastic meeting point.
I have sourced out many of the best local travel experiences in Italy (Tuscany and Sicily based), Spain, Greece, Mexico, Cuba, Costa Rica, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Panama, India and Thailand. And just to throw in some outliers, think fresh seafood in the isles of Scotland. And closer to home ?
There are great people and places to explore here in North America too from the Acadians in New Brunswick to their Cajun cousins in the bayous of Louisiana.
I hope you enjoy the stories and videos I’ve collected. If you too would like to experience an new world of slow travel and help me support a better way to travel, please reach out.
